Here are some of the projects we have been undertaking each month and whats happening

We opened the year at a pace and started the refurbishment of several WCs. The 1st to be completed is a single occupancy WC which was refurbished by removing the existing finishes including cubicle and installing new wall tiles, suspended ceiling, new vinyl flooring with inset cove and new sanitary ware for a completly different feel.

A tired tea point needed a long over due make over and our team turned the works around in an agreed window. The walls were lined with hygenic wall cladding to improve the cleaning of the area. A new modern style kitchen installed with on demand hot water heater.

During a short window the client needed to reconfigure a servery counter to function more effectively. We provided a bespoke solution to design, manufature and install new counters to accept heated and chilled servery stations. All works went as planned and the business was up and running serving students in the timescale available.

2No small kitchens were refurbished with works including new vinyl flooring, plumbing, joinery and hygenic splashbacks

During the summer break we were employed to install new automated disabled doors to enable access to 2No lecture halls. The existing curtain walling needed reconfiguring to allow the installation of wider doors, path and internal alterations to the tiered seating. The new doors were installed complete with access control to enable specific student access.

Bespoke glazing needs to be done correctly as there is no room for error once the panes are on site. We were engaged to install a framles glass balustrade installed on both a button and track fixing with powder coated steel handrail.

As partition specialists we specified a 50mm partition system to divide a larger unit and create a small clean room for assembly of electronic equipment. Vinyl flooring was also installed to help reduce dust and dirt in the area.

Previously

Having dead space on a viewing balcony seemed a straight forward project to install partitions and form a new office. However we needed to negotiate with Building Control to confirm the install and achieve building control approval. All the details were addressed taking the stress away from the client.

The client was keen to add a feature wall to a reception space and Oak slats provide a modern stylist look

Previously

Good storage can change an area from a messy corner to a useful and more efficient space. Free standing cupboards were replaced with fitted lockers which maximised the available area and bench seating allowed folding chairs to be successfully stored out of sight.

The storage of sports wheelchairs required a bespoke solution. Previously the chairs had filled the room and opened up the chance to get damaged. Our bespoke storage wall maximised the space available and freed up the floor space for better use of the room.

Soft ground around a delivery yard was being used as an overspill and dangerous in wet weather. The aim was to not simply extend the parking but install paved hard standing for storage of trolleys and stillages. Kerb stones were fitted to prohibit vehicles and timber rail to match other areas.

Wishing all our suppliers, contractors and clients a fantastic 2024

Our client needed to alter the existing servery layout to open a new dining option. The existing counters where in good order and it was decided a more cost effective solution to reuse the existing counter in the new footprint. Our skilled tradesmen removed all the existing counters repaired the floors and laid new safety vinyl flooring. The counters were then moved and new facias applied. All works were carried out in the tight shutdown period which happens once a year.

Our client in Oxford had a handrail with the handrail spindles set too wide apart for H&S compliance. Solutions were requested to resolve the issue and upgrade the screen. We removed the existing handrail and installed a new glazed screen installed from floor to ceiling with solid dado band to allow the installation of a handrail. Aluminium framed glass partitioning was installed.

In an effort to increase the accessibility to a lecture hall an existing fire exit was replaced to provide a power assisted entrance. We removed the exiting door set and installed a bespoke Aluminium framed glazed door and side light and installed door automation to provide access control entry, power assisted egress and emergency exit bar.

An tired staff WC was in desperate need of an update and Beacon Commercial Solutions were engaged to refresh the area. The existing WC provision was maintained but the opportunity to remove excess pipework and tidy ‘add on’ installations gave us great scope to tidy up the space. Works included the replacement of suspended ceiling and lights, new vinyl flooring, new WC cubicles and sanitaryware.

Our client was keen to upgrade a kitchen servery to improve the hygenic and aesthetic appearance of the space and Beacon Commercial Solutions were tasked with providing a solution. We embedded the existing power into the walls and covered all the walls with hygenic wall cladding. Other works included the installation of new vinyl flooring and inset cove.

Last year we installed a small 50mm partition lobby as a temporary entrance lobby. The client asked us to remove the old install and upgrade the install to fit a double glazed banded glass screen to provide a visually attractive and secure lobby. The install was completed with frosted film manifestations.

New

Pallet racking was installed to provide approximately 600 pallet locations. All racking was coloured to match the companies identity which is very important to their brand. All the racking was installed by experienced qualified operatives.

We embarked on an ambitious reception refurbishment at the end of 2022 and completed the works on time and budget. The large 2 storey office only had direct access to the office at ground floor level and the challenge was to provide the same access for the first floor office. Works included, Demolition of first floor slab, New MF and suspended ceilings, task and feature lighting, AC installation, Porcelian floor tiles, Decoration, Bespoke staircase, Glazed balustrades, Automated sliding door set for starters

In preparation of creation of a new starage warehouse the existing tired unit needed to be refurbished. Unused since 2020 the unit 1000m2 was in desparate need of work to enable its new function. The unit needs a full rewire, decoration, lighting throughout and the floor slab fully prepared and high build resin flooring applied

A local kitchen required an upgrade to their current store room to improve the standard of hygene and opted for white rock wall cladding which provides a fully wipeable surface and new coved vinyl flooring.

A Bespoke steel staircase with concrete filled and tiled treads was installed to travel from ground to first floor level in this reception space in Leicester. The staircase and balcony has toughened, laminated glass balustrade and stainless steel hand rails.

Following successful internal works at the start of the year the decision was taken to hang fire installing new external UPVC double glazed windows until the weatherr became more predictable… Apertures were created and new windows installed completing the works the day before storm Larissa covered the UK with Snow.

Loughborough University needed some works carrying out to improve the appearance and acoustic performance of a media content room. The works invloved besppoke joinery to creat accessable units for an exisyting distribution board, boxing and insulation to a rain water down pipe, decoration and application of acoustic wall pads.

The client required direct access to the ground floor reception space and we opened up the first floor meeting room to provide this. The existing steels were cut and new lintels installed, all works were carried out outside normal working hours to remove any disruption to the day to day business.

The client had pedestrian WC provision for male and female staff and while not changing the layout made changes to install a premier league WC. Vinyl floors were exchanged for porcelain tiles, inset post formed vanity units replaced solid surface back lit tops and sit on basins with infra red taps. With standard height MFC cubicles promoted to full height flush faced cubicles.

To offer the staff an improved canteen facility the client engaged Beacon to remove the existing window and security grille and install new Bi-Fold doors. The 2400mm x 5000mm Bi-folds have transformed the space by providing greater natural light in the room and when the weather improves the ability to open the wall to a potential outside seating area. Works included new Bi-Fold doors, internal roller shutter security shutter, external 5M wide awning, relocation and removal of AC and LVT plank flooring.

Moving into new premises in North Leicester the client was faced with an office which was personalised to the previous occupier. Works were carried out to redecorate walls and build offices to tailor the office to their working practices. New offices and dividing screens were constructed to produce spaces for the individual departments in the larger offices. Works included Partition installation, Carpet tiling and film manifestestion.

Completed in Leicester we were requested to install a new temporary entrance lobby. Using 50mm Composite partition the build took 2 days from start to finish and caused minimal disruption to the office.

Completed in Melton Mowbray a large warehouse space had no staff welfare provision. We formed the new room with stud and board partition and fitted a small kitchen with breakfast bar and dining table.

Completed last week in Melton Mowbray this smart little 50mm composite meeting room provides an ideal space for private meetings or video conferences. Installed from start to finish in 1 week the front elevation has 2 double glazed to door head height window modules complete with integral blinds. 25/07/22
